about me, lisa may casaus!
Hi, there. I’m and illustrator who loves characters and stories and, of course, onions! Hi, there. I’m and illustrator who loves characters and stories and onions! Baby Onion Says Hello! is my personal brand. Why Onions? Well, I like round things and golden things and tasty things. In short, I like onions. I also like random things and faces and weaving things.
But I think what I really like is telling stories. I always have. And those stories have usually been a bit on the weird side, so the onions and the randomness fit right in. The stories are, more often than not, unplanned. They just happen as I work. The characters seem to create themselves from tiny bits and pieces of memory and imagination. The oddest comment, word combination or interesting name can set them off; the result being that the illustrations tend to tell stories that I never would have guessed I was thinking. I see the image and think, “Another One?” Then, I add it to the ever-lengthening list of stories that need to be told. I can tell you, it’s a pretty long list! Ai, Caramba! Thanks for stopping by. I hope you enjoy these illustrations as much as I enjoyed creating them! |
